Had a reservation for a party of five planned 2 weeks in advance. Then in the end, I thought my salad was good but my steak wasn't even anything special.
The side of real horseradish was outstanding. We were excited to find a J. Alexander's near our hotel -- ate dinner the first night in Memphis and then stopped for lunch the next day.

There were NOT supposed to be cucumbers on it but there were. Excellent service. The diced tomatoes on the top were not necessary, I would ask for it on...the side next time. It...was extremely HOT and everyone at our table was sweating. I think they forgot to add the vodka to the drink.
They offer specials each day for entrees and sides....On our last visit for a late lunch I had the chicken finger appetizer which comes with fries for my entree and my husband had the club sandwich with fries. I read some complaint about the lighting and I agree the lighting is poor, but we all have cell phones with lights so just use them to look at the menu and don't make a big deal of it.
